The 8th of January 2013 some teachers from Madrid travelled to
Decmocritus University of Thrace, in the Greek city of Xanthi. There
were presented the rules for the development of the course in 3
different days. As well, it was explained the kind of documents to work
with: protococuments, diagrams, models. At the same time, a debate was
produced about the architectural production in educational contexts,
and about the difficulties, habits and cliches the student might face
in the course.
The students received the information on the course before its
beginning, thus, the topic dealt in the workshop was a kind of preview,
focusing problems or difficulties to be faced through unknown documents
and unfamiliar colleagues.
The 11th of March 2013, a group of teachers from Madrid travelled to
Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. During a
3 day course they presented the rules, also they explained the
important documents to work with: the protococuments, diagrams and
models
The Brazilian students were the seconds to be incorporated to the
course, the Spanish ones already started two weeks before. It was
prepared a “logbook” (http://issuu.com/uddfedericosoriano/docs/libro_workshop)
in order to produce a direct result to be applied on the course
exercise. The book contained a set of architectural floors that were
carefully chosen as references, then, the students had to produce a
collage –a protofloor- with those documents. The information produced
during the workshop was truly important, since it was the basis for the
Greek and Spanish students, who continued the project after that.
