Pablo Padilla de la Torre
Pablo Padilla de la Torre was born in Jaén, Andalusia, South of Spain 1982. From 2000 to 2005 he carried out the ‘Telecommunication engineer’ degree at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). He became engineer in july 2005 with the Master Thesis oral defence. His research interests include the area of antenna design and synthesis and the area of active microwave devices. He has also developed some research activity in the area of metamaterials.
José Manuel Fernández González
José Manuel Fernández González was born in Lausanne, Switzerland on August 22, 1977. He received the “Dipôme d’Ingénieur Électricien” from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2003. His current research interest is in the field of metamaterial structures with emphasis on planar antenna applications.
Sara Burgos Martínez
Sara Burgos was born in Madrid, Spain on September, the 3rd 1980. She received her M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in 2004. Since then, she is a Ph.D. student in the Radiation Group of the Signals, Systems and Radiocommunication Department of the UPM. Her current research interests are in antenna measurement techniques with emphasis on cylindrical and spherical systems. In June 2006 and 2008, she participated as a teacher in the “Antenna Measurements Course” in the European School of Antennas − Antenna Center of Excellence (ACE) − organized by the UPM in Madrid.
Manuel Sierra Castañer
Manuel Sierra Castañer was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1970. He received the M.Sc. degree of Engineer of Telecommunication in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in 2000, both from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Since 1998, he has been at the Technical University of Madrid as a research assistant, assitant and associate Professor. His current research interests are in planar antennas and antenna measurement systems.
Cristian Martínez Portas
Cristian Martínez Portas was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1977. He graduated with a degree in electronics and electricity from San José Institute in Buenos Aires and has completed extensive coursework in electricity installation. Since 2002, he has been at the Technical University of Madrid as a technician in antenna measurements. He participates actively in national and international antenna measurement projects for companies. He is also the responsable of the computer network of the Radiation Laboratory of the Technical University of Madrid.
Pablo Caballero Almena
Pablo Caballero Almena was born in Badajoz, Spain in 1957. He received the BS degree in technical electric engineering from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (I.C.A.I.) in 1980. Since 1978, he has been at the Technical University of Madrid as a microwave and antennas laboratory assistant and since 1981 he is the engineer responsable of the antenna measurements working in multiple projects involved in measurement of satellite antennas, radomes and Radar cross section.
Alfonso Muñoz Acevedo
Alfonso Muñoz Acevedo was born in Toledo, Spain in 1985. He received his M. Sc. degree in Telecommunication engineering from Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in 2008. He started his work at the Radiation Group in September 2007, as a Master Thesis student. Since September 2008, he is carrying out Ph. D. studies at the Radiation Group involving antenna design and millimetre wave technologies.
Francisco José Cano Fácila
Francisco José Cano Fácila was born in Don Benito (Badajoz), Spain, in 1985. He studied ‘Telecomunication engineer’ at the Technical University of Madrid from 2003 to 2008. On November of this last year he obtained his M.Sc. degree. At this moment, he is in the Radiation Group of the Signals, Sistems and Radiocommunications Department of the UPM like a Ph.D. student. His main interest is in antenna measurement, focusing specially on the diagnostics techniques and near-field to far-field transformations. He has found new applications to these kinds of techniques, for instance, to cancel reflection waves in anechoic chambers.
Andrés García Aguilar
Andrés García was born in Madrid, Spain on September, in 1984. He received the ‘Telecommunication engineer’ degree at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in October 2008. Since then, he is a Ph.D. student in the Radiation Group of the Signals, Systems and Radiocommunication Department of the UPM. His current research interests are antennas and conformal arrays design and synthesis. He has also developed some research activity in the area of metamaterials.
